Carlina Duan

Carlina Duan is a sophomore at the University of Michigan, where she studies English and Creative Writing. She is one of the founding editors of the Neutral Zone’s Red Beard Press, a youth-driven publishing company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and she is also an editorial member of UM’s Xylem and Fortnight Literary Press student publications. Carlina was a recent recipient of two University of Michigan Hopwood Underclassmen awards in Poetry and Nonfiction. Carlina dedicates herself to creating passion in words for her peers, and she believes in the power of independent, youth-led publishing as a way to revolutionize the way we think, teach, and understand literature.
